It was quite refreshing to read some of the inner commercial mechanics of cloud computing. I picked up the fact that security “isn’t really a big deal” but of course, they did not mention the other ‘big deal’: availability.
It’s ok having loads of cheap servers but when it really matters, do you really want to be relying on equipment that’s been built to a price point, and a rock bottom one at that?
For the really important stuff, buy a purpose built device to ensure your uptime.
